Security Programs
Food Security Programs offer alternatives to food bank line-ups and encourage knowledge of cooking, gardening, food buying, which in turn develops self-esteem, self-help and often leadership skills and a sense of community.
Thrifty Kitchen Cookbooks The Surrey Food Bank has published two cookbooks full of nutritious, low-cost recipes that are easy to prepare, and are often put to good use in our community kitchen. Cookbooks are available free to low-income individuals (donations are welcome). The cookbooks are sold in bulk to help pay for our next printing and postage. For bulk orders, please contact the Program Manager at 604-581-5443.
