Our Client Programs

Hunger affects us all; it knows no age, it knows no race and it knows no season.

At the Surrey Food Bank we have created specialized programs to ensure we are providing food assistance to everyone who needs a hand up in our community.

Registered clients may visit the Surrey Food Bank and receive a hamper every 14 days. Hampers are based on the size of household and we provide a supplementary hamper with food enough to last 3 to 4 days. We offer hampers for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians with nutritious food products based on Canada’s Food Guide for Healthy Eating, however, can only supply items that have been donated or purchased as required.

We are open for general food hamper distribution for our registered clients:

  • Mon: 9:30 am - 1:00pm
  • Tue: 9:30 am - 1:00pm
  • Thu: 9:30 am - 1:00pm
  • Fri: 9:30 am - 1:00pm

Those registered for our Tiny Bundles Program (families with pregnant Mom's and children under 1-year of age) can come once every 7 days. These families will also receive a full week’s worth of nutrition, along with diapers, baby food and other items.

Registered clients who are unable to attend the food bank due to mobility issues as a result of serious mental or physical challenges are eligible to have their hampers delivered to their home. Please note that medical validation is required for this program.

The Surrey Food Bank has 3 additional distribution centres throughout Surrey and North Delta. These include a centre in North Delta, one in Cloverdale and one in Newton-Green Timbers. These centres operate once every two weeks and are located at key accessible areas around the community. The Surrey Food Bank also operates an Evening Distribution for those clients who are working or attending school during our regular weekly distribution times.
