Like many other organizations across Canada, and around the world, the Surrey Food Bank is working on protecting the health and safety of clients, volunteers and employees is a priority. We continue to pay close attention to the impact of COVID-19, and as a result we are taking proactive measures to ensure the continued well-being of everyone at the Surrey Food Bank.

At this time, the food bank remains operational for it’s regular distribution days on Monday, Tues, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 AM until 1:00 PM, and our Tiny Bundles distribution each Wednesday from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

We have temporarily suspended our seniors distribution on Wednesday afternoons, and ask that all seniors who have been previously registered for seniors depot, use our dedicated service, to join us on Wednesdays during Tiny Bundles. The community social hour at Chuck Bailey will not be offered to our seniors while all City of Surrey rec centres are closed.

We’ve also temporarily suspended our off-site depots until further notice. These depots are located at:

Anyone who typically accesses the food bank from these locations, can come to our main warehouse on either Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM. Those who cannot make it to our Whalley location are asked to have someone come on their behalf.

Our administrative office will be open from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Monday to Friday. If you wish to make a financial donation, we ask that you contribute online HERE, or by mailing a cheque to:

We have also suspended our evening distribution depot effective IMMEDIATELY. And ask that all clients who use this service, to come during our Mon – Tues or Thurs – Fri distribution days until further notice. If you are unable to get to the food bank during those hours, we ask that you send someone on your behalf.

We realize that these temporary changes are done with very little notice, however, it’s important to protect everyone, as best as we can from COVID-19.

We ask that if you are unwell, or showing any signs of COVID – 19, please do not come to the food bank and send someone else in your place to pick up your food. Practice social distancing, and stay home.

Symptoms of COVID-19

Reported symptoms can include a fever, cough, or shortness of breath and may appear in as few as two to fourteen days following exposure. If you develop a cold or flu-like symptoms, especially after travelling, it is recommended to call *811 for personalized expert advice and to see if you need to seek testing.
