Executive Director
Surrey Food Bank
Location: Surrey, BC

The Surrey Food Bank (SFB) is a highly regarded, trusted, and critical not-for-profit agency providing food for families in Surrey and North Delta in a respectful and dignified environment.  The program is core to the region’s community services, distributing 1,300 food hampers weekly though a small core staff and several thousand volunteers.

Within the provincial food bank network, SFB is seen as a leader. It is the second largest in the province and operates in the fastest growing community in BC.  Unique is the expanded support services SFB provides – beyond just food – to other support programs, thereby connecting clients with a range of community services.

The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Directors for ensuring the successful leadership and management the SFB according to the strategic direction set by the Board.  The Executive Director is responsible for achieving strategic, financial, operating and fundraising objectives and, on a daily basis, acts as the public “face” of the organization.  Central to the role is leading a complex logistics/warehousing operation.

The ideal candidate brings a track record of success in a very hands-on leadership role with a community-based not-for-profit organization that delivers programs or manages complex operations.  Armed with the ability to cultivate partnerships, secure funding from private and corporate donors, and inspire a cadre of volunteers, the preferred candidate also will have the strategic ability to chart the course for the future in engaging the community around food security.

Located in Surrey, BC, this is an opportunity to play a hands-on and meaningful role in a high profile and unpretentious organization.
